Nicholas Maltby, Ph.D.
Director
Dr. Maltby received his doctorate from the University of Connecticut in 2001. He then completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in anxiety disorders at the Anxiety Disorders Center at the Institute of Living under Dr. David Tolin. While there he conducted numerous research and treatment outcome studies on OCD and anxiety disorders and pioneered the ADCs use of functional MRI to understand OCD, hoarding, and anxiety. His clinical interests include the treatment of OCD, panic, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, and phobias. Dr. Maltby is a licensed pilot and has built a specialized practice treating fear of flying. As Chief of his volunteer ambulance service, he is passionate about helping first responders and utilizes EMDR to treat trauma and PTSD. Dr. Maltby has five children and is "slightly off" according to his wife due his his love of riding motorcycles in the dirt.
